After going vegan in 2015, Dee began experimenting with creating a plant-based alternative for cheeses, specifically focusing on cashew cheese. At that time, there were store-bought options available, but they were packed full of questionable ingredients.
After many attempts and some failures, she developed a few amazing recipes for vegan cheese that were not only enjoyable for her but also thrilled her friends and family, who loved them!
Her goal was always to keep the ingredients organic, simple, and nutritious. As the years progressed, through word of mouth, her business grew into a passion project, though it required some financial investment to take it further.
Dee, an electrician by trade, saved enough money over the years to turn her cheesy dream into a reality. In July of 2024, Dee's Nutty Cheese was launched, and our mission as a business is to never sacrifice quality for profit while continuing to grow sustainably. We are currently available in two retail locations and participate in local farmers markets to connect with customers who appreciate our vegan cheese options for their charcuterie boards.
